Have Faith in God

Faith is very important to us, but how do we explain it? I believe that the answer is in Hebrews 11, which is the chapter on faith. The individuals mentioned in this section merely accepted God’s word and adhered to His directives. All of them were remembered for their faith because of this. Living by faith means holding fast to what we know and believing what God says. Faith is knowing that something will happen, not hoping it will.
The questions now are, “How do we get this faith?”and “How do we grow in faith?” Our faith encompasses more than just agreement and knowledge. Not just agreeing with certain facts about Jesus, the Bible, the resurrection, or other parts of the Bible. It involves living our whole lives and taking a position based on our belief in these facts. Genuine faith is life changing.
My aim in this book is to give you a start in your life of “having faith in God”. This will be a lifelong endeavor for you; it is not something that you can complete today and then let go of. Yes, the journey will be lengthy and characterized by numerous detours and turns. Throughout the duration of your journey, you will undoubtedly encounter opposition to your newly discovered faith in God.
Your lifestyle may change as your faith deepens; some changes may be small, but others may be significant as you discover God’s will for your life. But all of them will be not only necessary but worthwhile.
You will have the strength to face these challenges if you keep your eyes and mind focused on the ultimate goal of being in God’s Kingdom.
