The photographs featured in this gallery were captured at different locations spread across Western Australia. Since there are no sufficient individual photos to justify creating a separate gallery for them, I have instead included them here in this gallery. It is my hope that you will take pleasure in viewing these photographs from our beautiful country.
The primary region of this enormous state that I intend to cover during our travels will be the south-west corner, stretching from roughly Bunbury all the way down to Esperance on the south coast. This journey will encompass many of the well-known and popular tourist destinations found throughout Western Australia.
I would recommend travelling the coastal road that passes by places like Denmark where you are close to Elephant Rocks and Green Pool, which are situated in the William Bay National Park.
Canal Rocks
The places we like the most are those situated along the coastal roads that go past spots such as Canal Rocks. This is a wonderful tourist destination that draws visitors at any time of the year, but it is especially popular in the springtime, when the weather is at its best for travelling and exploring.
As we make our way along one of our favourite roads, Caves Road, we go past places such as Smith’s Beach, where tourists can find accommodation. It is a superb surf beach that is, at the same time, a very safe beach for swimmers.
Along this road, you will also find some caves that attract adventure seekers who enjoy going underground. Also near the caves you will find a great stretch of road called Contos Beach. There are several places where the road leads to scenic beaches more suited to the photographer than to surfers or swimmers. The coastline here is very rugged, with granite rocks reaching out into the Indian ocean.
As you travel Caves Road, you will pass many other places that are well worth visiting to take some special photographs, such as Sugar Loaf Rock just out of Dunsborough. Then as you go further south, you will come to one of my favourite places to get the camera out, and that is the amazing Boranup Forest. If you are prepared to venture a little way into the forest, there are some incredible photo opportunities.
Boranup Forest
One of my favourite places along Caves road is when you come to the Boranup Forest. The Karri trees in this region are quite spectacular, and if you are prepared to venture a little way into the forest, you can get some stunning photos.
