King James Bible – John 7:8

I believe the King James bible is the best translation of God’s words that is available to us today.
So this post is to reveal so very glaring differences between the King James Bible and other versions that we need to be aware of. Some of these differences make the text means something very different to the original. Let us compare John 7:8 with the King James Bible and another version of the bible, and you will plainly see what I mean.

John 7:8, You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come.

Now let us look at the King James version and read the same verse.

Joh 7:8 (KJV), Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.

Notice in the first version of the Bible, Jesus has stated he is not going up to this festival, but we are all aware that he did go up to the festival. So we must ask the question, “Why has this discrepancy been allowed?”.

It may seem like a very minor difference, but it makes a massive difference to the meaning of the verse. By leaving out that one small word “YET”, the first version is telling us Jesus was not going up to the festival, but in the KJV tells us he intended to go up to the festival, but not at this precise time.
There are many such discrepancy between the King James Bible and other versions and I will cover more of them at a later time.
