What connection exists between mockers and the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? The initial task I must undertake here is to precisely define what is meant by the term mocker. A definition of a mocker is “someone who jeers or mocks or treats something with contempt or calls out in derision”. Additional terms that may be used to describe a mocker include ‘scoffer’ and ‘sneerer’.
Such mockers will actively resist anyone whose outlook on life differs from their convictions. They are aggressive, hostile, and desire nothing more than to belittle those who behave differently from them. They will not heed another person’s ideas but are swift to interrupt and talk over their opponents.
Those whom we presently refer to as “The Woke” match this description precisely. They, together with numerous governments, desire nothing more than to control all people so that we all share the same understanding and beliefs. They do not wish for anyone to possess their own personal thoughts and beliefs. These mockers demand that everyone conform to their ideas.
It will be the wise followers of Jesus Christ who heed his counsel from Rom 12:2
Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Those who scoff will endeavour to lead you astray from that which you recognise as the truth. Resisting them shall prove arduous; yet should we fail to do so, we shall not be pleasing unto God. Scoffers have existed for thousands of years. Attend to the words of Job from the Old Testament, as recorded in Job 17:2.
Job 17:2 Surely there are mockers about me, and my eye dwells on their provocation.
Mockers have always been with us and will still be with us right until the end when Jesus Christ returns
