Is Being Fearful a Sin Against God

is being fearful a sin against God

We are living in a world that is highly dangerous and constantly shifting. A world in which fear continues to grow, where we worry about losing our jobs, our families, our homes, and even our lives. Wars remain a constant danger to everyone, since nations seek to take over other nations for many reasons. Hatred towards neighbours is a growing problem, particularly in the Middle East.

Middle East

Governments everywhere are seeking more ways to control their citizens, with surveillance cameras watching over nearly all of our cities. They also wish to eliminate cash so that they can track and regulate how we spend our money. The United Nations is contributing to making us afraid.

We are enduring a pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus. Our communities and families are being torn apart, and we do not know where these changes will take us.

As governments attempt to manage the population, they are placing restrictions on people and creating anxiety. Employees are being compelled to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, or they face the possibility of losing their jobs, homes, families, and friends. Everyone is afraid for what the future holds for their families. Being anxious about your future and that of your family is understandable. We ought to be concerned and do what we can to help them reach the best possible outcome in every area of their lives.

Do not be Fearful

However, if a Christian refuses to stand up for his religious convictions, that is a sin against God. This amounts to being fearful. In truth, it is a serious sin against God, as I will now explain to you. When you listen to Rev 21:7-8, you will hear that being fearful is listed first, ahead of other sins—sins we might consider greater offences against God. Read this passage of scripture from.

Rev 21:7, He that overcometh shall inherit all things;1 and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Rev 21:8, But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
