In our present day, there is a belief that is held by a great many people, and yet it is mistaken, which says that God has become weary of the Israelis and has turned His back on them, and that He has instead decided to show favour to the Church. This particular idea is commonly referred to by people as “Replacement Theology”. Let me take a moment to explain what that term actually means. What God is essentially saying, in effect, is that He no longer wishes to have anything at all to do with those Israelite sinners who are favour to the Church, thankless, rebellious, and unrepentant. Instead, His dealings will be set aside exclusively for the sinners who are stubborn, thankless, rebellious, and unrepentant and who are found within the church. If that were, in fact, the true situation, then I would be forced to conclude that God is merely swapping one group of sinners for a different group of sinners.
Unconditional Promises
Here there is one essential point that we really need to consider. If it were possible for God to break the unconditional promises that He made to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, then He would likewise be able to do the very same thing to a church that does not deserve Him. And yet, He will never turn His back on Israel. The gifts that God gives, along with His calling, cannot be revoked, as we can see in.
Rom 11:29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.
Across the whole of history, Christians have gradually arrived at the understanding that each promise God made to Israel stood firm and unchangeable, and that none of them could ever be taken back or cancelled. The land that God solemnly promised to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob has always been, and will continue forever to be, the promised land, standing as an everlasting pledge that can never be revoked or undone. It is a sad reality that a growing number of Christian leaders are pulling back their support from Israel and are choosing to turn their backs on the nation. Nations and governments across the globe are applying pressure on Israel to give up parts of its land as part of what is generally referred to as a two-state solution. In reality, this would not truly be a solution at all because the enemies of Israel want far more than simply the land of Israel itself. What they are ultimately planning is to wipe out every single Jewish person across the entire world.
This topic will influence the way we see and understand many significant doctrines that God has concealed within his Bible. This book aims to make clear some vitally important issues that are at stake, together with the consequences that follow from believing the lie of replacement theology.
Favour to the Church
The relationship between Israel and the Church will continue to be a matter of controversy. The essential question now before us is this: does the church take the place of Israel in God’s eternal plans, or has God always kept a separate identity and purpose for the nation of Israel?
